Rehearsal 2 Enters the Books

Category: News, Pictures,

On Friday night, September 27, the musicians of the upcoming October 12 program again came together for the second of four practices. Meeting at the Forest Lake Academy music department, this would be the final rehearsal that saw instruments and voices separate. The choir invested their two hours on the Rutter Gloria, and under Mark Becker were able to make great strides forward. Afterwards, Mark commented that he was very pleased with their progress. It was the first time the choir completed a full read through of the Gloria and the results exceeded expectations. Audiences on October 12 are in for a real treat.

On the instrument side, one hallway over, Friday night saw the first coming together of the full orchestra. Under Leon Hauck, the orchestra read the Majesty and Glory of Your Name and progressed positively in a very short amount of time. Next, Even Chesney took to the directors podium and led the orchestra through the Hallelujah Chorus. Being consummate musicians, the orchestra accomplished what Evan needed in only the second run through. Next up, the strings spent the remainder of the allotted time working on the Adagio in G minor.

The next rehearsal is scheduled for October 5, at the Forest Lake Church. This will be the first time voices and instruments come together. This promises to be an exciting rehearsal.
